FAQ / Prices

How much do lessons/ projects/ INSET or consultancy support cost?

All projects are slightly different so we will give you a quote when you decide the scope of your project with us.

Typically prices are:

  • A teaching visit (up to half a day) costs £90 plus a charge for materials.  We usually provide our teaching services in half day units.
  • Most projects require one or sometimes two finishing off sessions (usually in half day blocks) to fully complete the work.
  • One to one consultancy support or training costs £50 per hour.  Usually a minimum of two hours.
  • INSET costs are £250 plus any materials for an after school session. Approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes long depending on the training required.
  • The cost of producing display work varies depending on what is actually required and how much time is involved.  Please discuss your requirements with us.  Advice on displays is free if we are teaching at your school.  We will do our best to help you with suggestions and advice.

What area of the country do you cover?

All areas are considered depending on your individual requirements.  We may charge travelling costs depending on the distance from our base.  We would also undertake international work.  Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Do you provide art materials for lessons/ projects?

We provide all materials needed.  We come prepared with equipment, resources and tubs of materials.  We do ask to make use of the school photocopier for certain resources.  We also ask you to provide your own art shirts to protect the children’s clothes.  We generally make use of school pencils but bring everything else.

How do you plan lessons and projects?

We mainly discuss plans over the phone and exchange ideas via email.  Occassionally we make preliminary visits to schools to meet staff involved and to plan with them.  We invest a lot of time in planning to ensure pupils get the best activities to enable them to make progress with their artistic learning.

What kind of photographic work do you do?

We provide a range of photographic work including photographing art work and art projects, children working or undertaking particular activities or any aspect of daily life at school.  We provide images of professional quality for you to download or we can provide prints, framed prints, acrylics or canvas prints for display e.g. in front entrances and public areas.  Photographs of school life can really enhance your school environment.  You can use the photographs for your websites, newsletters etc.  We can provide smaller file size images ready for website publication.  Our photographic work can be seen on a separate website: www.stephenbrucephotography.co.uk

When we carry out art teaching at your school we usually record the lesson/ project photographically as we go along.  These photographs are available for your school free of charge as part of our service.

What is the cost of photographic work?

Depending on your requirements we negotiate a price for you.  Our typical prices for recent work have been:

  • £90 to £180 depending on how long we are at the school and how much editing is required.

This service provides you with a collection of high resolution edited photographs for you to use as you wish.  We will spend anything from 1 hour to a whole day working with you.  We will also discuss the number of photographs you require.  You can also download a set of photographs with smaller file sizes ready for website publication at no extra cost.

If you require prints, acrylics, canvases or albums/ books then we can arrange these from a professional lab and the cost will be added to the basic package price.

If you require a very small number of photographs then we are happy to discuss your requirements and agree a price with you.
